artist - illustrator - designer
Having artist parents instilled in me a great love of art, and an even greater love of making things. Starting at age 5, I regularly thumbed through art books lying around the house – Aubrey Beardsley, Maxfield Parrish and Hieronymus Bosch were among my favorites. As I learned to read, Dr. Suess and old comics became a major influence, along with images from the original Oz books. In these books I found great appreciation for old illustrations and realized that imaginary worlds can be legitimately created. I felt that drawing, as opposed to painting, gave direction to my bank of imagery, and my natural need to create visually to explain a thought, idea or story.
In addition to generating artworks, I have also created a cocktail lounge, a retail art store, three music venues, and two children.
